Cairo: Dr. Yousef Abdulkarim Bucheeri, Director General of Legal Affairs and Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led the Kingdom of Bahrain's delegation at the meeting of the States Parties to the Arab Charter on Human Rights, held at the Arab League General Secretariat in Cairo.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on a proposal from one of the States Parties to amend certain provisions of the Charter. Delegations exchanged views on ways to develop the Charter's mechanisms and enhance its effectiveness in line with regional and international developments in human rights.
Dr. Bucheeri also held a meeting with Ahmed Maghari, Head of the Human Rights Department at the Arab League. The discussion centered on advancing cooperation between Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Arab League General Secretariat, particularly in the realm of human rights development and coordinating positions on shared regional and international issues.
