Manama, “Dilmun the Falcon” has been unveiled as the official mascot of the International School Games (ISF) Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024, the organising committee has announced.
The mascot draws on the historic significance of Dilmun, once a key trade hub in the Arabian Gulf, with its capital located at Bahrain Fort.
The “Dilmun the Falcon” mascot, wearing a light blue jersey, was revealed during a grand opening ceremony at the Bahrain National Stadium, attended by prominent figures and delegations from participating countries. The mascot reflects Bahrain’s rich heritage and embodies sportsmanship and intelligence, serving as an inspirational symbol for young athletes.
The event, the largest in the history of the ISF with 5,515 athletes from 71 countries, features a wide range of sports, including football, swimming, and athletics, providing young athletes with an international platform to showcase their skills.
The games will continue until October 31, with various sports and cultural activities promoting s
portsmanship and cultural exchange among participants.
