Manama: Abdulla Mohamed Alahmed, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), received Henning Georg Simon, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Both sides discussed recent regional developments and means to enhance cooperation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, a roundtable was held on the sidelines of the meeting with the centre's researchers, during which participants exchanged views on the role of think tanks in supporting knowledge-based dialogue and objective analysis, contributing to the development of approaches to regional and international issues.
Alahmed highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation between research institutions and countries to gain a deeper understanding of regional developments and develop shared approaches. He also underscored the importance of advancing knowledge-based dialogue beyond bilateral frameworks towards broader regional and international cooperation.
For his part, Ambassador Simon expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Derasat, particularly in research and strategic analysis, affirming the importance of partnerships with think tanks in supporting mutual understanding and strengthening international dialogue.
They also discussed opportunities to develop joint research programmes, organise regular academic events, and exchange studies and expertise, supporting the centre's role as an active intellectual platform and reinforcing Bahrain's focus on knowledge-based international cooperation.
