Derasat Board Reviews Achievements and Sets Future Priorities in 4th Annual Meeting.

Manama: Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), chaired the Board's fourth meeting of the year, reviewing the Centre's achievements and setting future priorities. According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting highlighted Derasat's role in supporting Bahrain's comprehensive development, guided by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and aligned with government policies led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah underscored plans to expand international partnerships, strengthen innovation, and enhance the Centre's contributions to key national strategies. Key initiatives for 2024 include signing agreements with global institutions to advance research in energy, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and other critical fields. The Centre is also preparing the Bahrain National Human Development Report 2026 on digital transformation in collaboration with the UN Development Programme, aiming to enhance public services and support sustainable development. Derasat's recent accomplishments include the successful "Think Talks" Series, which focuses on global issues and collaborations with international think tanks. The Centre will continue hosting forums and seminars to foster regional and global cooperation, solidifying its role as a leading research institution and strategic partner for Bahrain's development.
