Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain Meets Sri Lankan Ambassador to Enhance Bilateral Ties

Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, met with Shereen Shanika Dissanayake, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing ties with Sri Lanka and praised the continuous development of relations between the two countries. He also highlighted the government's broader efforts to deepen partnerships with South Asian nations to support mutual development and create new opportunities across various sectors.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged the contributions of the Sri Lankan community to Bahrain's development across all sectors and noted the Kingdom's safe and welcoming environment for residents. The meeting also discussed economic and trade cooperation, including the growing bilateral trade and the potential to expand collaboration in sectors such as tourism and food security.

For her part, the ambassador praised the strong support for bilateral relations and wished Bahrain continued progress and prosperity.
