Deputy Prime Minister Meets with WHO Representative in Bahrain.

Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, met with Dr. Tasnim Atatrah, WHO Representative in Bahrain. The meeting reviewed key projects undertaken by the WHO office in Bahrain and its future programmes. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasised Bahrain's strong commitment to the healthcare sector as a cornerstone for community strength and progress. According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah highlighted the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to ensure the sustainability of healthcare services, enhance infrastructure, and provide high-quality, equitable care for all, aligning with the comprehensive development goals under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He noted that the significant advancements in the healthcare sector over recent years were partly achieved through Bahrain's collaboration with international organisations, particularly the World Health Organization (WHO). This cooperation has allowed for the exchange of expertise and the adoption of strategies to strengthen national capabilities and enhance healthcare services. The Deputy Prime Minister commended the efforts of the WHO's Bahrain office, which, since its establishment three years ago, has strengthened collaboration between relevant government entities and the organisation. He acknowledged the office's role in providing technical, strategic, and operational support to various health initiatives. Dr. Atatrah expressed her gratitude to Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah for the reception and commended Bahrain's support and cooperation with the WHO. She also lauded the Kingdom's remarkable progress in developing its healthcare sector and wished Bahrain continued growth and prosperity.
