Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, engaged with Waleed Khaled Al Shariaan, Board Member of Al Sorouh Management Company and Chief Executive Officer of Mabanee Company, the developers of The Avenues in Bahrain and Kuwait, alongside Dr. Maher Abdulaziz Al Shaer, Managing Director of Bareeq Al Retaj Company. The meeting underscored Bahrain's ongoing commitment to fostering an investment-friendly environment, thereby enhancing the factors that attract quality investments, and contributing to the diversification of the national economy and expansion of private sector partnerships.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that these initiatives align with the Kingdom's comprehensive development goals, spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and guided by the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah highlighted the government's continuous support for major projects, particularly in the real estate development sector, by creating a flexible business environment that addresses investor needs and offers advanced infrastructure and legislation fostering innovation and productivity.
He further noted that these efforts aid in stimulating economic growth, generating quality opportunities for citizens, and reinforcing Bahrain's position as a premier regional business hub. The Deputy Prime Minister lauded the robust and historical ties between Bahrain and Kuwait, describing them as exemplary of deep-rooted relationships that continue to flourish across various development fields. He commended joint private sector projects as successful instances of economic cooperation between the two nations.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah also pointed out The Avenues - Bahrain as a prominent example of effective public-private partnership, showcasing the optimal use of government land to propel economic growth. He noted the mall's distinguished status among Bahrain's commercial centres, providing an integrated shopping and leisure experience with major international brands that enhance its appeal as a pivotal commercial and tourism destination, particularly after the completion of its second phase.
During the meeting, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah was briefed on the company's expansion plans for The Avenues - Bahrain and its upcoming projects in the Kingdom and the broader region. Waleed Khaled Al Shariaan expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister for the government's support and facilitation of investment projects that offer the private sector a conducive environment for growth and expansion.
