Zallaq: The date market at the Bahrain International Exhibition 'Mara'ee 2025' continued to attract strong visitor turnout on the third day of the event, supported by notable GCC participation. The section features a variety of local and Gulf dates, related products, and traditional crafts, reflecting the growing importance of the sector.
According to Bahrain News Agency, participants have expressed that the exhibition offers an effective platform for showcasing products and strengthening links between producers and traders, noting its role in supporting the agricultural sector and small and medium enterprises.
Ibrahim Ali Salman, a date specialist, highlighted that the section has seen significant interest this year, with visitors from Bahrain and across the GCC expressing strong demand for well-known Bahraini varieties, including Ikhlas, Barhi, and Sukkari.
From Oman, Mohammed Al Maamari shared that their participation reflects the exhibition's successful organisation, noting that their pavilion includes a wide range of Omani products such as dates, Omani halwa, frankincense oil, honey, and palm-leaf crafts. He added that meetings with exhibitors helped enhance cooperation and exchange expertise.
Mohammed Al Maghawari from Abu Ali Dates Factory in Oman stated that their first participation at the event has enabled them to introduce a variety of Omani honey and frankincense products, noting strong visitor engagement.
From Saudi Arabia, Huwaiyda Waleed of Jawharat Al Helal Nuts commended the organisation and stated that their first participation provided an opportunity to present their products to a wide audience.
Ameen Saber of Qoot Hajr in Al Ahsa mentioned that their second participation builds on last year's success, noting they are showcasing new varieties of dates and related products. He added that the exhibition has become a key destination for stakeholders in the date sector.
Omani exhibitor Nasser Al Siyabi of Samail Dates Factory noted strong interest in their light-flavoured Omani dates.
Khalil Saeed of Bayt Al Nakhlah indicated that this year's edition has offered a strong platform to present their products, noting the large turnout and regional interest.
The Bahrain International Exhibition 'Mara'ee 2025' runs from December 9 to 13 at the Bahrain International Endurance Village in Zallaq. The event includes a livestock section featuring horses, camels, animals, and birds, in addition to agricultural displays, cultural and arts pavilions, and family-oriented entertainment areas, offering visitors a comprehensive experience that highlights Bahrain's agricultural heritage and biodiversity.
