DANAT Unveils Revamped Laboratory Report Design, Elevating Sustainability, Quality

Manama: The Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones "DANAT" announced the introduction of its newly enhanced design for all gemmological reports issued by the Institute, including the identification of pearls, gemstones, and diamonds.

According to Bahrain News Agency, this development forms part of DANAT's continued effort to strike an effective balance between operational efficiency and environmental sustainability, thereby further enhancing the quality and credibility of its internationally accredited outputs.

This update supports DANAT's broader effort to reduce the environmental impact of its packaging and cut the use of non-eco-friendly materials. By eliminating the microcards previously attached to issued documents, the move reduces plastic waste by about 16.3 kilograms per year, marking a significant step in lowering plastic use and shrinking the Institute's environmental footprint.

Furthermore, the new design offers greater practicality and ease of handling while preserving the highest levels of security and authenticity that distinguish DANAT's certification, in alignment with its standing as a globally recognised and trusted authority in the documentation and examination of pearls and gemstones.

The revamped report design reflects DANAT's continued commitment to supporting the Kingdom of Bahrain's national efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060 and aligns with its approach to adopting responsible and sustainable practices that integrate environmental preservation with ongoing innovation in the pearl and gemstone sector.

Noora Jamsheer, CEO of DANAT, said the update reflects the Institute's commitment to pairing operational improvement with environmental responsibility. She noted that the new report sleeve supports their push for sustainable solutions by reducing plastics and non-biodegradable materials while maintaining the accuracy and credibility of their reports. She added that this step enhances service quality, aligns with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030 and national sustainability goals, and strengthens DANAT's regional and international leadership in pearl and gemstone examination.
