Manama: The Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) and Kooheji Jewellery have entered into a cooperation agreement during the Jewellery Arabia 2025 event, which took place at Exhibition World Bahrain from November 25 to 29. This collaboration aims to enhance the standards of quality and authenticity within local and regional jewellery markets and bolster consumer confidence in Kooheji Jewellery's offerings.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the agreement stipulates that DANAT will perform testing and certification on jewellery pieces from Kooheji Jewellery, providing official certificates that verify the quality and integrity of the gemstones and materials used. This initiative is designed to offer customers a higher degree of transparency, trust, and assurance when purchasing jewellery.
This partnership is particularly timely as the global jewellery market experiences rapid changes, notably the rise of laboratory-grown diamonds. In such a dynamic environment, DANAT's certification acts as a trusted guarantee of authenticity, helping to differentiate natural gemstones from synthetic counterparts. The agreement also highlights Kooheji Jewellery's commitment to delivering premium, certified products backed by a nationally recognized authority known for its scientific expertise, reflecting the shared dedication of both parties to advancing the sustainable development of Bahrain's jewellery industry.
Noora Jamsheer, CEO of DANAT, emphasized that the agreement with Kooheji Jewellery underscores the importance of collaboration among national institutions and aligns with DANAT's mission to bolster consumer confidence, promote transparency, and elevate excellence in the jewellery sector. She added that this partnership reinforces DANAT's position as Bahrain's internationally accredited authority for gemstone testing and certification, demonstrating the joint commitment to protecting consumer interests and enhancing quality standards in the local market.
Ahmed Jawdet, CEO of Kooheji Jewellery, described the partnership with DANAT as a strategic milestone that enhances trust in the brand and aligns with global trends in the luxury goods sector. He highlighted that having jewellery pieces tested and certified by a neutral, accredited national authority like DANAT provides customers with strong assurance of authenticity and reliability. He further stated that the collaboration strengthens Kooheji Jewellery's status as one of the leading jewellery houses in the region and reflects the company's ongoing commitment to transparency, compliance, and high international quality standards, ensuring an exceptional and trusted purchasing experience for customers.
