Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, held a meeting with Vice Admiral George M. Wikoff, the outgoing Commander of the United States Naval Forces Central Command, U.S. Fifth Fleet, and Combined Maritime Forces at Gudaibiya Palace.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Crown Prince emphasized the enduring partnership between Bahrain and the United States, particularly in military and defense sectors. He highlighted the importance of enhancing these relations and advancing cooperation in line with agreements such as the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (CSIPA).
His Royal Highness expressed gratitude to Vice Admiral Wikoff for his efforts in strengthening bilateral ties during his tenure and wished him success in his future endeavors. The meeting also included discussions on recent regional and international developments, as well as issues of shared concern.
The Crown Prince reiterated the essential role of the United States and its allies in promoting regional and global security, stability, and development. The meeting was attended by several senior officials, including HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court, and HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy.
