Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s Egypt Visit Strengthens Bahrain-Egypt Relations

Cairo: A joint statement was issued following the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the Arab Republic of Egypt. The statement highlighted the longstanding ties between Egypt and the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as the commitment to enhancing cooperation between the two nations under the leadership of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

According to Bahrain News Agency, during the visit, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister met with President El Sisi, exchanging greetings and good wishes between the leaders of both countries. HRH commended Egypt's support for Arab causes and emphasized Bahrain's dedication to expanding collaboration with Egypt across various domains for the benefit of both peoples.

Further discussions were held with Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, focusing on strengthening economic, trade, investment, and development ties. The joint efforts of the Bahrain-Egypt Government Committee for Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technological Cooperation were lauded, alongside the numerous memoranda of understanding signed in fields such as economy, tourism, finance, and technology.

The visit also saw the Bahrain-Egypt Business Forum fostering connections between business communities, alongside Bahraini field visits in Egypt. Additionally, Egypt expressed congratulations to Bahrain for its election to the UN Security Council as a non-permanent member for 2026-2027, recognizing Bahrain's expected role in defending Arab issues.

Both countries reiterated mutual support in international organizations, with Bahrain backing Egypt's nominee for UNESCO Director-General. Regional developments were addressed, emphasizing the integral connection between Bahrain's and Egypt's security, and the importance of political dialogue in resolving regional crises.

On the Palestinian cause, both sides affirmed support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, humanitarian access, and the rejection of any displacement attempts. Egypt welcomed Bahrain's support for the Gaza Strip's recovery plan and looked forward to Bahrain's participation in the upcoming Cairo International Conference on Early Recovery and Gaza Reconstruction.
