Counsellor Nawaf Hamza: Candidates final lists to be displayed tomorrow Monday

Chairman of the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission, Executive Director of the Parliamentary and Municipal Elections 2022, Counsellor Nawaf Abdullah Hamza, has announced that the final lists of the candidates for the parliamentary and municipal elections will be displayed at the Supervisory Committees for the Integrity of Referendum and Elections tomorrow Monday, October 24. He added the lists will also be published on the elections official website www.vote.bh.

This comes after the end of the prescribed period for the candidates to legally submit their appeals and the competent court’s ruling in them.

The elections Executive Director revealed that the Supervisory Committees for the Integrity of Referendum and Elections had started submitting the lists of voters for the candidates from 5 pm to 9 pm.

The Executive Director also announced that the Supervisory Committees for the Integrity of Referendum and Elections, according to every governorate, will start receiving requests from the candidates’ agents from tomorrow, Monday, October 24, until the 5th of November, as each candidate for the parliamentary and municipal elections will be allowed to choose voters from among those registered in the list of the constituency in which the candidate is nominated as his agents at the polling and counting committees, and to attach with the application the receipt of the candidate’s candidacy application, a copy of the identity card of the agent and two personal photos.

Regarding any request to waive candidacy, Counsellor Nawaf Hamza pointed out that the deadline for submitting requests to waive candidacy for the parliamentary and municipal elections will be November 2, 2022, in implementation of the law, whereby the candidate has the right to waive his candidacy by written notification on the form prepared for this purpose, which will be submitted to the supervisory committee of his constituency at least ten days before the election day.
