Council of Representatives Reviews Achievements of Fourth Legislative Session

Manama: The Council of Representatives held a press conference to review the achievements and outcomes of the fourth ordinary session of the sixth legislative term. Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, attended the conference along with chairpersons of the council's five permanent committees.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the chairpersons reviewed the legislative and oversight topics referred to each committee, detailing completed matters and those still under examination. They also responded to questions and enquiries from attendees. During the fourth session, the Council of Representatives held 29 plenary sessions and discussed 339 topics, which included 257 oversight matters and 82 legislative matters.

The council's permanent and temporary committees organized 116 meetings and submitted 246 reports. Additionally, the council hosted three Gulf and Asian conferences to support parliamentary diplomacy efforts. The press conference saw the participation of various committee heads, including MP Mahmood Mirza Fardan, Chairman of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee, and MP Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee, among others.

Also present were key figures such as Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives, and Dr. Yasser Saqr Al Shirawi, Assistant Secretary-General for Resources and Services, along with several directors and staff members of the council's General Secretariat.
