Community Centre closed for one week for violating health protocols

The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments has closed one community centre (maatam) for violating the mandatory precautionary measures after the National Medical Team for Combatting the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The community centre, located in the Capital Governorate, will be shut down for one week in order to preserve the requirements of public health and protect worshipers,” the ministry said.

“The time will be used by the relevant teams to carry out the process of tracing contacts, sanitize the premises and ensure that all precautionary measures are taken.”, it added.

The ministry warned that it would follow up on the implementation of the mandatory measures at mosques community centres and intensify inspections to protect worshippers’ health and safety, adding that adherence to health protocols represents a national responsibility.
