Community Building Conference focuses on role of society in applying humanitarian, citizenship values

Manama, The Baha’is in Bahrain have organised a conference themed “Building a Vibrant Community”, with the participation of more than 350 people from various social components and age groups.

The conference, which concludes today, discussed the role of all social components in applying the humanitarian and citizenship values with the aim of reaching a deeper understanding of such values and agreeing on ways to concretize them in accordance with the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Addressing the opening session of the conference, Faisal Rafeei delivered a speech on behalf of the Baha’i community in Bahrain.

He said: “HM the King’s forward-looking vision has consolidated the Kingdom’s status on the world map. It provided equal opportunities for all the citizens to take an active part in building the nation by enabling them to play their role in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals and harness all their ideas and potentials to serve their society for a more advanced and prosperous country.”

“The love of the nation requires all of us to be keen on participating actively in serving the nation, strengthening the spirit of harmony and passing on noble human values from one generation to another,” he added.

Rafeei indicated that the conference is based on the concept of serving the community alongside others, noting that this concept is basic for promoting coexistence among the members of the same community and translating it into actions that benefit everyone.

He said that the experiences that will be shared and discussed during the two-day conference focus on how to enhance the sense of responsibility, being an expression of the continuous quest to understand social reality in order to meet the needs of society.
