Coast Guard Reports Piracy Incident Involving Bahraini Boat Near Northern Maritime Border

Manama: The Coast Guard Command announced that a Bahraini boat carrying a Bahraini sailor, aged 43, and two Asian nationals, aged 36 and 38, was subjected to a robbery by pirates near the Kingdom's northern maritime border. The incident underscores concerns about maritime security in the region.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Coast Guard Command received a report through the Main Operations Room, prompting immediate procedural actions and coordination with relevant authorities. Initial findings revealed that the pirates removed the sailors from their boat, taking them into Iranian waters. The pirates seized the vessel's contents before returning the sailors to their boat three hours after the incident.

The Coast Guard Command affirmed its close monitoring of the case, emphasizing that all necessary legal measures are being taken in coordination with the competent authorities. The authorities are focused on ensuring the safety of maritime operations and addressing such security threats effectively.
