Coast Guard Inaugurates Vessel Inspection Course at Maritime Training Wing

Manama: The Acting Coast Guard Commander inaugurated the first vessel inspection course at the Maritime Training Wing, organized in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Global Maritime Crime Programme.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the course will continue until February 6, with the participation of 26 officers and non-commissioned officers from the Coast Guard. It aims to develop participants' skills in the principles and foundations of vessel inspection in line with international laws and principles.

The course consists of two phases: the first is theoretical, focusing on explaining international laws and principles related to inspection operations, risk analysis, and understanding responsibilities while working at sea.

The second phase involves practical applications for boarding and inspecting ships, as well as training participants in writing reports on operations.
