Civil Defence Director Re-elected Vice President of ICDO Executive Council

Baku: Brigadier General Pilot Ali Mohammed Al Kubaisi, Director General of the General Directorate of Civil Defence, has been re-elected as the Vice President of the Executive Council of the International Civil Defence Organisation (ICDO) for a second consecutive term. This election occurred during Bahrain's participation in the 58th session of the ICDO Executive Council and the extraordinary session of the General Assembly, which took place in Azerbaijan.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Brig. Gen. Al Kubaisi expressed his pride in the renewed international confidence in his leadership, emphasizing that this appointment is a testament to Bahrain's strong performance and commitment to civil defence. He also acknowledged the significant support from General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, and the continuous oversight by Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security. Their efforts have been instrumental in enhancing Bahrain's civil defence preparedness to meet international standards.

During the sessions, key programmes and activities were discussed, along with progress reports and the implementation of previous resolutions. Additionally, the election of the new Secretary General of the ICDO was on the agenda.

On the sidelines of the sessions, Brig. Gen. Al Kubaisi engaged in bilateral meetings with the Ministers of Emergency Situations of Russia and Azerbaijan. These discussions focused on exploring avenues for cooperation and exchanging expertise in civil defence and emergency preparedness.
