China: China has launched the Xishuangbanna Biodiversity digital platform, the first of its kind dedicated to documenting tropical biodiversity, in observance of the International Day for Biological Diversity.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the platform was developed by the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden under the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It provides access to more than 90,000 verified records covering 15,622 species of plants, animals, and fungi.
The data has been meticulously verified to ensure scientific accuracy, with plans to integrate artificial intelligence technologies to support environmental research and education, officials said.
