Chief of Public Security Outlines Next Phase of Police Work Development Strategy

Manama: Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security, chaired an extended meeting on developing the work of police directorates and stations and their performance indicators. The meeting was attended by assistant undersecretaries, director generals, and directors of the Interior Ministry.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Lt. Gen. Al Hassan conveyed the greetings and directives of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, to continue updating and improving security work. The aim is to provide the best police services for citizens and residents, reinforce security and stability, and uphold public order in line with the government's action plan.

The Chief of Public Security emphasised that police directorates, through police stations, are a fundamental part of the security system, playing a vital role in enhancing community security through effective communication with citizens and residents and ensuring a swift response to reports. He noted the rapid developments in digitalisation, technology, and AI across all aspects of life, necessitating readiness for the next phase of security work development.

This includes transforming police stations into service centres based on accredited standards and adopting smart police methods and applications that rely on system integration, accurate procedures, and the collection, processing, and analysis of data to improve security operations and police services and achieve the strategies and goals of public security. Lt. Gen. Al Hassan called for enhancing capabilities and modern technologies at police stations and security complexes to streamline tasks and accelerate response times in accordance with established standards.

He emphasised the importance of completing the full electronic transformation of police station services and launching advanced training programmes for staff to address security incidents and adopt modern technologies, thereby improving the quality and efficiency of the services provided by the ministry. The Chief of Public Security was briefed on the development of the project to unify procedures at security centres and streamline handling of reports, ensuring standardised tasks and processes that safeguard everyone's rights.

He reviewed the activation of continuous monitoring and auditing mechanisms to ensure workflow accuracy, the prompt and lawful handling of procedures, and the establishment of a unified reference system for communication and information exchange between security centres. Lt. Gen. Al Hassan commended the efforts of the personnel at the police directorates, departments, and stations for their consistent and accurate performance and wished them continued success.
