Manama: Lieutenant General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, Chief of Police, attended the final of the Police Open Futsal Championship, organised by the Police Sports Association at the Bahrain Handball Federation Hall. The General Directorate of Traffic emerged victorious after defeating the Coast Guard team with a score of 7-3.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Chief of Police commended the directives of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, for providing the resources and capabilities required to organise sporting events and championships. He noted that the minister's support for sport and athletes within the Ministry of Interior has led to success in numerous local and international competitions.
Lt. Gen. Al Hassan praised the performance, fair competition, and sportsmanship of the participating teams. He expressed appreciation to the Police Sports Association and others who contributed to the successful organisation of the championship.
Brigadier Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayat, President of the Police Sports Association, thanked the Chief of Police for attending the closing ceremony and for his ongoing support of the association's activities, which aim to enhance the physical fitness of police personnel.
The Chief of Police presented the championship trophy to the winning team and honoured representatives of organisations that contributed to the event's success, including Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, Chief Executive Officer of the General Sports Authority; Majdi Mirza Hussain, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Handball Federation; and Abdullah Mansoor, Vice Chairman of Al Shabab Sports Club.
