CBB Ijara Murabaha Sukuk Oversubscribed by 213%

Manama: The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) announced a significant oversubscription for its monthly issue of the six-month short-term Ijara Murabaha Sukuk, reaching 213% above the original offering. This marks a substantial interest from investors in the financial instrument.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the CBB received subscriptions totaling BD 106.348 million for the BD 50 million issue. The Sukuk carries a maturity period of 182 days, reflecting heightened investor confidence and demand. The expected return on this issue, effective from July 30 and maturing on January 28, 2027, is set at 5.62%. This is an increase from the previous issue's return of 5.37% on July 2.

The Ijara Murabaha Sukuk is issued by the CBB on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain. This latest issuance is designated as issue 6IM/12 (BH000O953078) in the short-term Ijara Murabaha Sukuk series.
