Manama: The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has announced that the monthly issuance of the short-term Islamic Ijara Murabaha Sukuk has been oversubscribed by 180%. This significant interest reflects a robust demand for the BD 30 million issuance, which has attracted subscriptions worth BD 54.063 million.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the current issue carries a maturity period of 364 days, beginning on July 27 and set to mature on July 26, 2027. The expected return on this issue is 5.52%, which marks an increase from the 5.34% return of the previous issue on June 29. These Sukuk are issued by the CBB on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain, indicating strong investor confidence in government-backed financial instruments.
The specific issuance, identified as 12IM/8 (BH00019237Y7), is part of the short-term Ijara Murabaha Sukuk series. The oversubscription serves as a testament to the continued appeal of Islamic financial instruments in the region and highlights the strategic role they play in Bahrain's financial market.
