CBB Ijara Murabaha Sukuk Oversubscribed by 168%

Manama: The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has announced that its latest monthly issue of the short-term Islamic Ijara Murabaha Sukuk has been oversubscribed by 168%. Subscriptions totaling BD 50.271 million were received for the BD 30 million issue, which has a maturity period of 364 days. According to Bahrain News Agency, the expected return on this issue, which begins on August 31 and will mature on August 30, 2027, is 5.48%. This compares to a return of 5.52% on the previous issue dated July 27. The Ijara Murabaha Sukuk are issued by the CBB on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain, marking significant investor interest in this financial instrument. This particular issuance is identified as 12IM/9 (BH0008734P99) within the short-term Ijara Murabaha Sukuk series, indicating a continued series of offerings by the CBB to meet the financial needs of the market.
