Manama: Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Governor of the Capital Governorate, conducted field visits to several Maatams (community centres) in Manama at the start of the Ashoora commemoration, continuing the governorate's annual practice of overseeing preparations for the event.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the governor commended the follow-up and support of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, and his directives to all relevant entities to provide the necessary assistance to ensure the commemoration proceeds smoothly and securely. He also lauded the effective cooperation and high level of coordination shown by Maatam heads with the various authorities.
The governor noted that the Capital Governorate had held several prior coordination meetings with representatives from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, Capital Municipality, the Jaafari Waqf Directorate, and heads of Maatams to discuss readiness and finalise plans to ensure the commemoration is organised as required.
On their part, Maatam heads and officials expressed their appreciation to the Capital Governorate and all relevant government entities for their ongoing efforts and close engagement, noting that such support contributes positively to the safe and orderly conduct of the Ashoora commemoration.
