BRCS Mobilizes for Relief Efforts Amid Iranian Attacks on GCC

Manama: In light of the blatant Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain and the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) will participate next Sunday in a coordination meeting with its GCC counterparts to discuss mechanisms for joint action and to ensure full preparedness to deliver relief and humanitarian assistance.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting is convened at the invitation of the regional delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, in support of the Kingdom of Bahrain's noble humanitarian objectives and in alignment with collective GCC efforts.

The BRCS continues to mobilise its volunteers and resources under the campaign 'Bahrain is Well. Because You Are its People', aimed at supporting national efforts to address the Iranian aggression. The Society draws upon its accumulated expertise and its cadre of trained staff and volunteers across first aid, psychosocial support, relief operations, and humanitarian response.

Volunteer opportunities span several vital sectors, foremost among them the health sector to support medical and ambulance teams; the engineering sector to provide technical assistance and site assessments; and the logistics sector to secure supplies and manage transportation and storage operations. Administrative and supervisory roles, alongside other specialisations as required, also form part of the mobilisation framework.

Mubarak Al Hadi, Secretary General of the BRCS, affirmed that the Society has placed all its capabilities and field expertise on the highest state of alert to meet the current humanitarian requirements. He underscored that the regional challenges necessitate unprecedented coordination among all parties engaged in relief and humanitarian action.

He added that the Society's role extends beyond the provision of logistical and emergency medical support to the establishment of a comprehensive volunteer system capable of immediate response to any emergency, in full coordination with partners across the GCC and with international organisations. This, he noted, reinforces the standing and role of the Bahrain Red Crescent Society as a leading national humanitarian institution.
