BRCS Engages in International Humanitarian Law Workshop in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) took part in a specialised workshop titled "International Humanitarian Law in Light of the Challenges of Humanitarian Response," organised by the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

According to Bahrain News Agency, the BRCS shared its expertise in promoting international humanitarian law during the event. It showcased its active involvement in training volunteers and increasing awareness within the local community. The Society also highlighted its collaborative efforts with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law in Bahrain. These efforts focus on building and strengthening national capacities, extending awareness, and reinforcing respect for international humanitarian law principles across various sectors, including government and private institutions.

The workshop gathered representatives from GCC Red Crescent Societies and Authorities, SRCA personnel, and humanitarian and relief workers. Its objective was to enhance respect for international humanitarian law among staff and volunteers, foster initiatives that uphold humanitarian values, strengthen commitment to these values, and address challenges in humanitarian work and health services through preventive strategies.
