BOU SAAB DISCUSSES INTERNAL SITUATION WITH HUNGARIAN AMBASSADOR, MEETS WITH EDUCATION SECTOR REPRESENTATIVES

Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Elias Bou Saab, on Wednesday received Hungarian Ambassador to Lebanon, Ferenc Csillag, in his office at Parliament. The pair discussed the general situation in Lebanon, as well as recent developments due to the war in Gaza and the repeated Israeli attacks on Lebanon. They also addressed the issue of Syrian refugees, with Bou Saab emphasizing the “need to address this crisis as soon as possible, especially after the noticeable change in the European Union’s perspective on this file.”

Bou Saab then met with a delegation comprising the Union of Private Educational Institutions and the Teachers’ Syndicate to continue previous meetings aimed at resolving the ongoing crisis in the Compensation Fund.

Agreement was set on “amendments to Laws 515 and 1512 in order to save the upcoming academic year and restore teachers’ rights to maintain the continuity of educational work.”
