Manama: The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), in collaboration with the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), celebrated the graduation of 66 students from its international bachelor's programmes in partnership with Bangor University, UK. The event also marked 21 years of collaboration between BIBF and Bangor University. According to Bahrain News Agency, the graduation ceremony was attended by Dr. Diana Abdulkarim Al Jahromi, Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council; Professor Andrew Edwards, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Bangor University; and Dr. Ahmed Abdulhamid Al Shaikh, Chief Executive of BIBF. During the ceremony, it was announced that 22 graduates had been offered jobs or on-the-job training opportunities by institutions such as Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK), National Bank of Bahrain (NBB), ABC Bank, Ernst and Young, Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB), Naseej, Bahrain Development Bank, Benefit, and Bags Capital. Awards for community engagement were presented by Bangor University, alongside pa rtial scholarships for postgraduate studies. Excellence awards were also given to graduates by representatives from leading financial institutions, including the NBB, BBK, Ahli United Bank, BisB, ABC Bank, National Bank of Kuwait, Arab Bank, and Benefit. The ceremony included speeches by graduate Noor Al Hashimi and alumna Abeer Adel Al binali, Assistant General Manager of Risk Management at Eskan Bank. Degrees were presented to graduates by Professor Edwards and Dr. Al Shaikh. Bangor University, a renowned British institution, offers accredited bachelor's programmes in banking and finance, accounting and finance, and Islamic finance studies. It is ranked first in the UK for banking research according to RePEc, a global index of economics-related research papers.
