Manama: Several personnel from the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) secured top positions in the 10th International Holy Quran Competition for Military Personnel, organised by the General Administration for Religious Affairs of the Armed Forces in Saudi Arabia. The competition saw the participation of 179 contestants from 32 countries.
According to Bahrain News Agency, with the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and Prime Minister, and the directives of Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force, Bahrain remains dedicated to promoting Quran memorisation and recitation. This commitment has enabled BDF personnel to achieve top rankings in various Quranic competitions.
Sergeant Ahmed Al Lahbi secured fourth place in the full Quran memorisation category. Captain Alzubair Mubarak Al Hiddi secured fifth place in the 15-part memorisation category. Private First Class Ahmed Jaber Mohammed secured second place in the 5-part memorisation category. Captain Ammar Ibrahim Fazie secured third place in the 3-part memorisation category. Major Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Shami secured fifth place in the recitation and performance category.
