BCCI hails Bahrain’s efforts to develop relations with Brazil

Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Chairman Sameer Nass highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts to develop bilateral relations with the Federative Republic of Brazil.

He hailed the initiatives led in this regard by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Last December, the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, and in cooperation with Bahrain’s Embassy in Brazil, announced from Brazil, Bahrain’s Declaration in South America.

The President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro also lauded distinguished relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain, stressing his country’s keenness on expanding economic cooperation, particularly trade sectors of metallurgy, water and food.

He stressed keen interest in building a partnership with the Kingdom of Bahrain and exploring economic and investment opportunities, highlighting facilities and open economic environment in his country.

Nass was addressing the Bahrain-Brazil Forum, organized by Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of President Bolsonaro, Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf, Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Kamel bin Ahmed Mohammed, Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, iGA Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Ali Al Qaid, Bahraini and Brazilian businessmen and other high-level officials.

Nass commended bilateral relations binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Federative Republic of Brazil, stressing keenness on further bolstering joint ties through the memorandum of understanding, sighned by Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Arab Chamber of Commerce in Brazil.

BCCI First Deputy Chairman Khalid Najeebi addressed the forum, stressing the chamber’s support to all thak support joint economic cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Federative Republic of Brazil.

He hailed the volume of trade exchanges between the two countries, pointing out that Brazilian exports to the Kingdom of Bahrain topped $481 million. The volume of trade exchanges between the two countries grew by 149% during the period from 2016 until 2018.

On the sidelines of the forum, two memoranda of understanding were signed, aimed to develop economic and trade cooperation between Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Arab Chamber of commerce in Brazil.
