Manama: Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) has initiated an integrated operational plan to manage the anticipated increase in demand during the Hajj season, Eid Al Adha holidays, and the summer break from June to August. The plan focuses on enhancing capacity, reinforcing frontline teams, activating logistics support, and improving baggage handling and passenger flow at Bahrain International Airport. Additionally, BAS has bolstered coordination with government entities and airlines to ensure round-the-clock service coverage and timely decision-making.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the company has prioritized customer service by training over 400 terminal employees under a customer service excellence program, delivered in collaboration with EMiC Institute. Internal workshops also addressed essential skills such as communication, time management, stress management, and teamwork. Furthermore, more than 30 trainees have been placed in various departments, including human resources, IT, ground equipment support, training, and finance. BAS has also recruited and prepared over 60 new employees, ensuring readiness ahead of the travel season.
In the area of airport ramp operations, BAS conducted reviews of workforce deployment based on projected traffic and completed readiness checks for ground support equipment. Movement schedules were updated to align human resources with operational needs. Compliance and audit teams have been deployed across departments for real-time monitoring and immediate response to any issues.
