Ballistic Missile from Iran Neutralized by NATO in East Mediterranean

Ankara: The Turkish Ministry of Defence announced today that a ballistic munition fired from Iran and entering Turkish airspace was neutralized by NATO air and missile defence assets deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the ministry said that some debris from the munition fell onto vacant land in Gaziantep Province, with no casualties or injuries reported.

The statement noted that Trkiye places great importance on good neighbourly relations and regional stability. It added that Turkey confirmed all necessary measures would be taken decisively and without hesitation to address any threat directed at its territory or airspace.

The ministry also emphasized that complying with Turkey's warnings in this matter is considered to be in everyone's interest.
