Bahrain’s Parliamentary Delegation Engages with Swedish Parliament Official in Doha.

Doha: Bahrain's parliamentary delegation, led by MP Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee, met with Kenneth G. Forslund, First Deputy Speaker of the Swedish Parliament, during a Gulf legislative meeting hosted by the Qatari Shura Council. The meeting was part of Bahrain's ongoing efforts to engage in active parliamentary diplomacy under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. According to Bahrain News Agency, the delegations discussed a range of issues of shared interest, particularly focusing on ways to strengthen parliamentary cooperation and relations. They reiterated His Majesty the King's call for a Middle East peace conference, underscoring Bahrain's commitment to promoting peace, dialogue, and stability both regionally and globally. The discussions also covered investment and trade cooperation between Bahrain and Sweden. The Bahraini delegation emphasized Bahrain's progress under the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, highlighting the Kingdom's active legislative development, which has been instrumental in enhancing its economic and developmental frameworks. Forslund, representing the Swedish Parliament, shared insights on Sweden's parliamentary work and expressed interest in the exchange of expertise. He noted the growing relations between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Sweden, emphasizing a mutual commitment to advancing ties for the benefit of both sides.
