Manama: Bahrain's parliamentary delegation participated in the opening of the 150th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), held in Uzbekistan under the theme "Parliamentary Action for Development and Social Justice."
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting reviewed the importance of the role of parliaments in supporting sustainable development goals, promoting social justice, and tackling global challenges. They emphasised that this can be achieved through active parliamentary dialogue and stronger cooperation between countries.
Bahrain's participation reflects its commitment to contributing to global legislative efforts, sharing experiences with other parliaments, and strengthening its presence on the committees and general sessions of the IPU.
The Council of Representatives will continue to take part in the meetings and side events of the General Assembly, which aligns with the Kingdom's vision to support inclusive development and promote social justice on both regional and international levels.
