Manama:Bahrain's national readiness reflects the strength of its institutions, as stated by Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy. He emphasized ongoing efforts to enhance this readiness under the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the comprehensive development process in Bahrain has solidified the foundations of the state of institutions and law, supported by the National Action Charter's principles and the cooperation between executive and legislative authorities. This has led to the creation of national institutions capable of contributing to growth and prosperity, overcoming challenges, and ensuring the continuity of essential services and protection of national assets under various circumstances.
The Finance Minister discussed how addressing challenges from regional developments has led to the evolution of a national crisis management framework. This framework focuses on enhancing coordination among ministries and government agencies and improving response mechanisms to ensure swift action in dealing with developments while maintaining vital services.
During the Iranian attacks, the government used a proactive approach to address repercussions by monitoring developments, ensuring readiness in health, service, and economic sectors, stabilizing prices, maintaining the national workforce, and ensuring the continuity of government services, alongside rebuilding damaged properties. This experience underscored the importance of continuing to enhance national readiness levels.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa also highlighted Bahrain's active diplomatic efforts, especially during its presidency of the UN Security Council in April. These efforts conveyed Bahrain's stance on protecting civilians and facilities, respecting international law, and ensuring international navigation security. The adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026) reflected support for Bahrain's positions since the onset of the aggression.
The Minister concluded by emphasizing the importance of strengthening national readiness, building on accumulated experience, and enhancing institutional collaboration and integration. This approach aims to fortify Bahrain's ability to face various challenges, continue its development, and safeguard its security, stability, and national assets.
