Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today centered on recent local events, particularly highlighting diplomatic engagements and legislative actions by HM King. HM King received a series of phone calls from global leaders, including the UK Prime Minister, King of Jordan, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Cypriot President, Iraqi Prime Minister, US President, and Palestinian President. In addition to these diplomatic discussions, HM King issued several decrees reorganizing various ministries, including the Ministries of Municipalities Affairs, Transportation and Telecommunications, Finance and National Economy, as well as the Civil Service Bureau.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HM King also ratified and issued laws amending previous decree-laws regarding external auditors and advertisement regulations. These legislative updates follow approvals by the Shura and Representatives Councils. Meanwhile, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad held discussions with the Saudi Defence Minister and HH Shaikh Tahnoon bin Zayed, reflecting ongoing diplomatic communications within the region.
The Ministry of Interior reported that Iran targeted Bahrain with attacks, specifically damaging the Crowne Plaza Hotel and a maritime facility near Salman Port. The National Communication Centre confirmed the effective interception of these Iranian ballistic missiles and drones by Bahraini air defense systems. The BDF General Command highlighted the successful interception of 61 missiles and 34 drones, ensuring the security of the nation.
In response to these developments, the Public Prosecution emphasized the enforcement of law against actions undermining national unity. Additionally, the Industry and Commerce Minister conducted market inspections to verify supply availability and price stability. The Anti-Cybercrime Directorate arrested an individual for disseminating videos related to Iranian aggression, a violation of the law. The NIHR and the 50th extraordinary meeting of the GCC Ministerial Council issued statements regarding the ongoing Iranian aggression against the GCC.
