Bahrain Addresses UN Over Iranian Missile Attacks on GCC States

New york: The Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations has dispatched a letter to Ant³nio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, on behalf of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. This action comes as Bahrain chairs the current 46th session of the GCC, aiming to highlight the Iranian missile attacks on regional countries.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the letter expressed the GCC states' strong condemnation of the Iranian attacks on GCC member states and Jordan, labeling them as violations of national sovereignty and breaches of international law and the UN Charter.

The GCC nations reiterated their solidarity with the affected countries, emphasizing that any threat to one member's sovereignty endangers the region's security and stability. The letter cautioned against the severe consequences of ongoing escalations.

Furthermore, the GCC states asserted their right to self-defense per Article 51 of the UN Charter, pledging to take necessary measures to protect their territories and maintain regional security and stability.
