Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Advocates Diplomatic Dialogue Between GCC and Iran

Manama: Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, emphasized the kingdom's support for diplomatic efforts aimed at fostering dialogue between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and Iran. This stance aligns with the directives issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa during an extraordinary Cabinet session, which serve as a guiding framework for Bahrain's diplomatic endeavors.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Zayani highlighted that the royal vision encapsulates Bahrain's dedication to promoting solidarity, peace, and security on both regional and global scales. This vision is driven by the leadership and foresight of His Majesty, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The Foreign Minister described this vision as a roadmap for Bahrain's foreign policy, emphasizing values of moderation, openness, and mutual respect.

Dr. Al Zayani lauded His Majesty's long-standing advocacy for conflict resolution through dialogue and negotiation. He noted the recent announcement by former US President Donald Trump regarding a comprehensive ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel, which His Majesty welcomed as it would mitigate the region's risk of war.

Under the leadership of His Majesty the King, Bahrain remains committed to diplomacy as the best approach to resolving regional crises, ensuring enduring peace and prosperity.
