Bahrain’s efforts to protect marine environment stressed

Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, Chief Executive of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Dainah, has chaired the 35th meeting of the Executive Committee of the Regional Organisation for the Protection of Marine Environment (ROPME), which comprises in its membership members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in addition to Iraq and Iran.

Dr. bin Dainah welcomed the participants in the meeting, stressing Bahrain’s efforts to protect marine environment. He wished the meeting every success in coming up with the best recommendations and decisions.

The meeting reviewed and approved candidacy applications submitted by the member states for the post of ROPME Executive Secretary, which will be referred to the organisation’s next ministerial meeting. The organisation’s financial and administrative issues were also reviewed alongside other topics related to the organisation’s work.
