Bahrain’s Diplomatic and Development Engagements Highlighted in Recent Cabinet Activities

Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on events that happened over the past 24 hours. HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting, marking a series of diplomatic engagements and development initiatives involving Bahrain and its international partners.

According to Bahrain News Agency, HRH the Crown Prince, who is also the Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, met with the UK's Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa, as well as the outgoing Commander of the US Fifth Fleet. These meetings underscore Bahrain's strategic military alliances and its commitment to regional security.

Bahrain's participation in international forums was also noted, with its involvement in the GCC-EU Cyber Diplomatic Dialogue and discussions with Cyprus on enhancing maritime and logistics cooperation. The Foreign Minister actively engaged in multiple high-level meetings, including the 29th GCC-EU Joint Ministerial Meeting and the 29th GCC-Benelux Joint Ministerial Meeting, where he also met his Hungarian and Dutch counterparts in Kuwait.

On the domestic front, the Justice Minister attended the 11th GCC Ministers of Islamic Affairs meeting, emphasizing Bahrain's role in regional religious affairs. Furthermore, the Second Gulf Intellectual Property Conference explored the challenges and opportunities associated with digital transformation in Bahrain, indicating the nation's focus on technological advancement.

In economic developments, the Finance Ministry released the Bahrain Economic Quarterly Report for Q2 2025, offering insights into the country's economic performance. Meanwhile, the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects reported significant progress, with 82% of road projects in the Government Plan 2023-2026 completed.

Also of note, the Transportation Minister participated in the Maritime Cyprus 2025 Conference, aligning Bahrain with global maritime developments. The country's legislative sector showed active engagement as Bahrain participated in the GCC Parliamentary Coordination Meeting ahead of the IPU General Assembly.

In labor and communication sectors, the LMRA announced the upcoming launch of an upgraded version of the Wage Protection System, and TRA Bahrain, along with mobile operators, introduced guidelines to combat fraudulent SMS. Additionally, the SIO Chief Executive Officer represented Bahrain at the World Social Security Forum in Kuala Lumpur, highlighting the nation's involvement in global social security discussions.
