Bahraini Women Lead in Digital Transformation and Innovation in Justice Sector

Manama: Participants in the Bahraini Women in the Judicial and Legal Fields forum, held under the theme "Excellence, Creativity, and Innovation," emphasized Bahrain's national commitment to advancing women's roles in all developmental areas, particularly in justice and law. This is seen as central to a modern state and the rule of law.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the forum highlighted the leadership of Bahraini women in law, their role in upholding judicial principles, protecting rights and freedoms, and advancing digital transformation in justice and legal data governance. This reflects a national legal identity capable of progress and impact.

The forum's sessions discussed the achievements of Bahraini women in the judiciary and legal fields, their leadership in developing the justice system, their standing as an inspiring regional and international model, and the exchange of successful experiences that motivate the next generation to enter the field.

The first session focused on inspiring legal leadership and the achievements of Bahraini women in the judicial and legal fields. It reviewed their pioneering path in leadership roles within the national justice system, highlighting their contributions in the judiciary, including attaining senior judicial positions and actively improving judicial and legal practices.

It was noted that there are more than 1,131 female lawyers, representing around 60% of Bahrain's lawyers, demonstrating their growing presence in the sector. The session also highlighted progress in the use of technology in case management and international arbitration, along with modern legislation such as the Family Law and the establishment of the Alimony Fund.

The second session focused on legal innovations that set Bahraini women apart in practice. It covered their contributions to legal consultancy, advocacy, and dispute resolution, as well as their role in promoting the use of artificial intelligence in the justice system and their achievements in legal education, research, and academia.

The session also reviewed Bahrain's progress in e-government, including ranking third in the Arab world in the UN E-Government Survey 2024, the launch of national policies for artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, and the creation of specialized committees to support digitalization in the Public Prosecution.

Speakers emphasized that Bahraini women have set a distinguished example in the legal field for decades, adapting to digital change with flexibility and competence. This has enabled them to improve legal services and adopt innovative solutions. They noted women's growing presence in modern legal fields and their ability to lead digital transformation and strengthen contemporary legal practice, making them a valuable asset to the legal system and an inspiration for future generations.
