Bahraini Weightlifter Ingrid Grueso Shines with Three Medals at Islamic Solidarity Games

Riyadh: Bahraini weightlifter Ingrid Grueso won three new medals at the Sixth Islamic Solidarity Games, held in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Competing in the women's 69kg category, she secured two gold medals and one silver in a single day of achievements for the Kingdom of Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Grueso claimed first place in the clean and jerk event after lifting 128kg, equal to Turkish athlete Nuray Gng¶r, but secured the gold on attempts countback.

She had earlier won silver in the snatch by lifting 106kg, finishing behind Nigerian athlete Islamiyat Yusuf, who took gold with 110kg. Grueso added her second gold in the overall total (snatch and clean and jerk) with a combined lift of 234kg, finishing ahead of all competitors.

With these achievements, Bahrain's medal tally at the Sixth Islamic Solidarity Games rose to six: two gold, two silver, and two bronze.
