The Bahraini-Turkish Joint Committee held today its 7th meeting in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the chairmanship of Minister of Finance and National Economy, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance, Dr. Nureddin Nebati.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa welcomed the Turkish Minister and his accompanying delegation, stressing the importance to continue the efforts to further boost cooperation between both countries mainly in the financial, economic, trade, investment and development fields.
A memorandum of understanding was signed during the meeting on cooperation in the field of standardization. The two ministers also reviewed means of developing cooperation between the two friendly countries in various vital areas as well as exploring investment opportunities and exchanging expertise.
Within the same context, the Minister of Finance and National Economy announced that the Kingdom of Bahrain had granted Turkey the status of “authorized partner” for the International Center for Sea and Air Freight Services in the Kingdom, with the aim of developing links with various economic sectors and attracting investments with a competitive advantage. Whereby, the Turkish-based companies will be able to apply for accreditation as an operator of this service. The minister expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness on enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation to achieve the desired goals and aspirations.
The Minister of Finance and National Economy pointed out the kingdom’s economic recovery plan and the opportunities it contains which are in harmony with promoting cooperation between the two friendly countries. He said that the plan is based on five main priorities, including facilitating commercial procedures and increasing their effectiveness to attract various investments by 2023, implementing major development projects by launching strategic projects in partnership with the private sector, in addition to developing a number of promising sectors like tourism the logistic services. the financial services, industry and information technology.
