Agriculture and Marine Resources Undersecretary at the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry, Dr. Nabil Mohammed Abu Al-Fath, has stressed the importance of using modern technology in the field of food security, noting that the kingdom, as part of its food security strategy, is keen to put in place a solid infrastructure for the food security industry, based on taking advantage of modern techniques and the latest scientific developments in the field of aquaculture and fish farming.
He indicated that the Works Ministry has adopted a roadmap to achieve its food security goals, highlighting the directives of the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister, Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf, to overcome all challenges in this regard by relying on modern technology.
The undersecretary made the statements during his remote meeting with the South Korean Ambassador to Bahrain, Hae-Kwan Chung, with whom he discussed fields of cooperation between the two friendly countries, especially in the fields of agriculture and fisheries.
Dr. Abu Al-Fath praised the existing relations between the two friendly countries across various fields, commending the role played by the envoy to strengthen bilateral ties.
He reviewed areas of joint cooperation in agriculture and fisheries, in addition to ways to avail of South Korea’s expertise in these fields, highlighting the kingdom’s desire to further bolster its cooperation with his country to achieve common interests.
The South Korean Ambassador lauded the steady progress witnessed by the kingdom across various fields, expressing his keenness to enhance bilateral relations, and affirming his country’s readiness to provide its expertise to develop the agriculture and marine resources sector in the kingdom.
