Bahraini MPs Attend Emirati Children’s Parliament Session

Abu Dhabi: Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee in the Council of Representatives, and Sabeeka Khalifa Al Fadhala, member of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee in the Shura Council, attended part of the Emirati Children's Parliament session. This attendance was part of the GCC-European Parliamentary Committee meeting held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to Bahrain News Agency, the delegation praised the Children's Parliament as a pioneering initiative that serves as a model for promoting parliamentary awareness and fostering civic engagement among young people. They acknowledged the UAE's efforts in supporting such initiatives, which contribute to educating a generation that is informed about its constitutional rights and responsibilities.

The delegation stressed that enhancing parliamentary awareness among children and youth aids in building a more engaged and responsible society. They noted that these efforts align with the values of dialogue and tolerance, which are essential components of Bahrain's democratic progress under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The delegation also engaged with interventions from participants in the parliamentary session. These interactions highlighted the participants' understanding of societal issues and the importance of parliamentary roles in shaping policies and decisions that affect their future. The participants emphasized the need for initiatives that foster leadership and responsibility among young people.

The delegation further highlighted the importance of Gulf-wide knowledge exchange in preparing future generations for democratic participation. They pointed out that investing in youth capacities in the parliamentary sector enhances their role as contributors to sustainable development and supports the continuity of democratic governance on a solid foundation.
