Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on local events that happened over the past 24 hours. The recent developments include diplomatic activities and regional security concerns.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HM King and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces visited those injured in the recent hostile Iranian attacks. This visit underscores Bahrain’s commitment to addressing the ramifications of regional tensions. In addition, HM King received messages from various international leaders including the Cypriot Foreign Minister, the President of Pakistan, the Minister-President of Bavaria, and the Prime Minister of Bermuda. These communications highlight Bahrain’s active engagement in international diplomacy.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister also played a significant role in international relations by receiving a letter from the Premier of Bermuda. Meanwhile, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad marked Bahraini Youth Day by holding a national meeting with over 400 young men and women, emphasizing the importance of youth engagement in the nation’s development.
In response to the regional security issues, Bahrain, along with UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Jordan, condemned Iran’s direct aggression or actions by proxy groups in the region. The BDF General Command reported the destruction of 153 missiles and 331 drones since the start of these Iranian attacks, highlighting the ongoing defense efforts.
The Foreign Minister of Bahrain also held talks with his Cypriot counterpart. He announced that the Human Rights Council’s resolution condemning Iranian attacks is a victory for Bahraini and Arab diplomacy and international legitimacy.
Furthermore, the Education Minister reviewed new facilities and the learning process at two primary schools, while the Interior Ministry emphasized community partnership amid national cohesion.
On the international front, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Belgium participated in a GCC-European Parliament meeting, and the Ambassador to New Delhi chaired a meeting with GCC Ambassadors and the Indian Foreign Minister, showcasing Bahrain’s active role in fostering international cooperation and dialogue.
