Manama: The 9th UN World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism, hosted by Bahrain for the first time in the Middle East, featured significant contributions from a number of outstanding Bahraini chefs. Their participation played an important role in the forum's success, adding a distinctive character to the international event. The forum showcased Bahrain's renowned hospitality and the rich diversity of Bahraini and Gulf cuisine to over 500 participants from 50 countries worldwide. According to Bahrain News Agency, the chefs participating in the forum included Tala Bashmi, named MENA's Best Female Chef for 2022; Lulwa Sowalieh; Nader Qanati; Abdulhameed from Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain; Hessa Al Khalifa; and Yousif Qambar. These chefs delivered impressive presentations, engaged in discussions with their counterparts from different countries, and exchanged ideas about various culinary techniques and methods. The Bahraini chefs expressed their gratitude for the efforts made by the Ministry of Tourism, the Bahrain To urism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), and other relevant entities in organising the forum. They noted that the event served as a strategic platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration with chefs from around the world. The chefs emphasised the importance of such initiatives in fostering cross-cultural communication and enhancing Bahrain's position as a unique destination in the culinary world. They also highlighted the forum's role in promoting local tourism and encouraging creativity and innovation. The forum welcomed more than 500 professionals and visitors from 50 countries. It featured a wide range of activities addressing key topics in gastronomy tourism, including best practices and global trends in the sector, live cooking demonstrations, and workshops.
