Bahrain welcomes accession to Shanghai Cooperation Organization as dialogue partner

Manama, Sept. 17 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain has welcomed its accession to the “Shanghai Cooperation Organization” and many Arab countries as a dialogue partner, on the occasion of the organization’s annual summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

 

 

 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs  noted Bahrain’s wise foreign policy under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

 

 

 

It reiterated Bahrain’s constants and diplomatic values that call for human solidarity, rapprochement between peoples, and regional and international cooperation in consolidating international peace and security, settling disputes by peaceful means, and supporting sustainable development goals.

 

 

 

It stressed Bahrain’s aspiration to build strong links of dialogue and constructive coordination with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which would strengthen regional and global security, peace and stabilityin addition to combating violent extremism, terrorism, drug trafficking and money laundering.

 

 

 

It stressed the importance of the move in promoting economic cooperation in achieving food security, protecting the environment, combating climate change, investing in energy, education and health, encouraging intra-trade and tourism, and supporting dialogue between cultures and civilizations.
